#1 – Northeast Arkansas Board of Realtors
The Northeast Arkansas Board of Realtors placed first in our Top 5 Competition by donating an incredible 38,040 meals! Each Fall, the Board of Realtors works to collect food and monetary donations for the Food Bank of NEA through their annual Realtor Food Fight event. The donations from this year’s event are helping to fill the food bank and provide comfort and joy to families at-risk of hunger this holiday season!
#2 – Lambda Chi Alpha
Coming in 2nd place with the equivalent of 25,042 meals is Lambda Chi Alpha. The group partnered with sororities at Arkansas State University to collect canned goods through for their annual food drive, Cream of the Crop. This year, their food drive coincided with Fill the Food Bank, thus enabling them to take home second-place in our Top 5 Competition. Thank you to Lambda Chi for partnering with us again this year!
#3 – ATT
ATT placed third in our Top 5 Competition. The company made a monetary donation that provided 6,250 meals to our neighbors in need. Much thanks to ATT for partnering with us again for this year’s event!
#4 – Unilever
Unilever placed fourth in our Top 5 Competition! The company held an employee food drive and harvested fresh, nutritious produce, including okra, turnips and squash, from their community garden. The combined donations resulted in the equivalent of 4,500 meals! Thank you to Unilever for partnering with us again for Fill the Food Bank!
#5 – The Academies at Jonesboro High School
The Academies at Jonesboro High School donated 3,064 meals! Students and teachers collected monetary donations and canned goods to support individuals at-risk of hunger. The food and fund drive was originally a project of the HHS Academy, but students in other academies quickly jumped on board after learning about the Meal Gap in Northeast Arkansas. Some students also held a bake sale with proceeds going toward Fill the Food Bank. Thank you to JHS for partnering with us again this year!
